This is my brother Daniel with his little girl Mia at the laundromat in Fort Wayne.
Their first apartment did not have a washer, so every Sunday they brought two baskets, quarters in a plastic cup, and snacks from the dollar store. He was working HVAC then and coming home worn out, but she never noticed. She just knew Dad made the dryers spin and let her press the buttons.
It was a small start, not perfect, not easy, but honest.
Indiana gave them room to build from there.
