Born in York Nebraska BUT raised in Superior, so Superior and Nuckolls County will ALWAYS be home to me even though I now live in Yuma Arizona where i retired from the United States Marine Corps in 1992. My "mom" and "dada" are buried in Evergreen as I will be. Many friends and memories are in Superior/Nuckolls County. My aunt and uncle (Janet and Larry Simpkins) still live here as do my cousins Camie (Kroger) and Keven Simpkins. Growing up in Superior was great, the Saturday nights (now Thursday) when the stores remained open until 9pm. The sidewalk sales in the summer when "main" street became alive with carnival rides and games and who doesn't remember the Nuckolls County Fair? Friday nights during football season the stands were always full even though the scoreboard would indicate smaller crowds and let's not basketball season when the gym was full and alive with Superior spirit. GBR, a way of life and what a great life to be raised in Superior and Nuckolls County, just a small town with BIG memories that will live as long as we do.
